As a part of our Distinguish Lecture Series for Issues in Pakistan Economy Course which is led by Ms Naheed Memon, Chairperson Sindh Board of Investment, Dr Farrukh Iqbal, Dean & Director, IBA addressed to the MBA Executive participants on July 8, 2017. The topic was "Pakistan and IMF over the last Four Decades".
During his address Dr Farrukh comprehensively explained the reasons for borrowing and its impact on development, ways for effective utilization of borrowing, comparison of economies who used borrowing effectively, why does Pakistan borrow so frequently from the IMF, why IMF failed with respect to policy reforms in Pakistan, what conditions does the IMF impose in a typical Stand By Arrangement (SBA), why Pakistan continues to go to the IMF for funding.
Even though the topic was related to Economics, the participants thoroughly enjoyed. The high quality questions put by the MBA Executive participants and responses received from Dr. Farrukh really made this session a memorable one.
